Yeah, man. This is epic, especially for a studio performance. I love the studio, but it can be challenging to perform at one’s peak if the conditions are less than optimal. Chris was definitely in his sweet spot, despite the song’s lyric and emotional content. Thank you for sharing this.
You’re very welcome. Yes, often the studio can compress the life out of a song or solo but this is right up front and raw. I wish Chris had sounded more like this throughout his career. He likely has played with the same amount of conviction on other songs however the sound on his well-known albums, have his signature slide guitar sound pushed further down into the mix, than on this cut and the Stony Road album as a whole.
